The 25th annual Motorsports 2010 Race Car and Trade Show returned to Pennsylvania this past weekend at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. Each day the huge crowds saw everything there is to see for area racers, fans and families including The Race Against Abuse of Children Everywhere booth just inside the front entrance.
The RAACE Foundation "Time to Talk" Awareness Station was huge. Hosting over 15 racing vehicles many autograph sessions, and of course the "Gigantic Wheel" which gave away prizes and helped to educate each and every attendee about the epidemic of child sexual abuse. The fun and excitement for fans started immediately upon entrance.
From race tracks promoting their season schedules, recruiting racers and advertisers to collectibles for kids young and old and everything in between all who attended this motorsports extravaganza left happy and excited for the new racing season that is before us.
Motorsports 2010 had something for everyone. The drivers and owners, a huge part of the success of Motorsports 2010, were presented with new product manufacturers and free racing seminars from "The Basics of Race Team Sponsorship" and "Legal Issues" to everything you need to know about getting started in quarter midgets and shock absorber technology.
There were over 600 race related booths including the annual "Checkered Flag Charity Auction" booth which through the auction of autographed memorabilia, apparel and collectibles raised funds to help The RAACE Foundation educate fans so no child should have to suffer the horrors of sexual abuse. The show, spread out over 200,000 square feet of display area was the "Best in years" according to event promoter Danny Sammons.
Center stage autograph sessions saw the likes of Kasey Kahne, Bobby Allison, Marcus Ambrose and Jeff Hammond, as well as the very popular Ms. Motorsports 2010 competition. There were all types of racing vehicles on display too from Lawn Mowers to drag boats and everything in between.
As usual there were many great things to do and see at the 2010 version of the biggest motorsports industry and race car show on the east coast. Fans got the opportunity to get out in the middle of a cold winter to seek out a new hero, or find an old one, as there were displays from retired race tracks such as Langhorne Speedway, and The Reading Fairgrounds as well as the stars and cars that raced there. Make sure to attend next years show as this was certainly one to build on. I think The RAACE Foundation speaks for all fans when we say we are glad to be back in Pennsylvania where the Sammons Productions Motorsports show started some 25 years ago.
