The Weekend of Saturday and Sunday, April 17th and 18th marks the third anniversary for the "Big Red Barn" known as Chesapeake Harley Davidson in Darlington, MD. Help celebrate their Birthday Bash and Spring Open House by riding in Sunday's Benefit ride. All proceeds from the ride go to the local Child Advocacy Center of Harford County, Md.
The Harford County Child Advocacy Center (CAC) investigates allegations of child molestation and/or exploitation, assesses and protects the child and provides services and resources for the abused child and his or her family, thus minimizing the trauma experienced by these abused children.
The RAACE Foundation works hand in hand with Child Advocacy centers all over the country including the one in our own back yard. "While the CAC's are very busy treating the problem of child sexual abuse, The RAACE Foundation is working hard to Turn the faucet off.' Awareness and education is the only way to stop the epidemic of child sexual abuse" says The RAACE Foundations Founder Kenneth Smith. "The two go hand in hand, they love what we are doing in getting the statistics and message to mass audiences. The CAC's just do not have the funding for awareness. While we are out there spreading the word, we need to make sure that victims and families are aware that they have a resource to lean on in their time of crisis and that place is their local child advocacy center" Smith added.
This is also an official RALLY for RAACE pre-registration event. The RALLY for RAACE is our own benefit police escorted motorcycle ride and family fun day event to be held on Sunday, August 8th. Those that pre-register receive the very collectible 5th Annual RALLY for RAACE Tee Shirt. Pre-Registration is $30 per bike and includes the official event pin and Tee. Extra's will be available for passengers and can be ordered that day.
Registration for the Harford County CAC Police escorted ride starts at 9:00 am and goes till 11:00 am. The $20 donation includes a tee shirt while supplies last. Raffle prizes include a two night stay at The Beach Plaza Hotel in Ocean City, MD with a $100 gift card to any Phillips Restaurant. So come out, enjoy the great live music starting at noon on Saturday by the Current Situation Band and Sunday by Lonesome Otis. There will also be plenty of plenty of food including Steel Horse Pit Beef, Hot Dogs, Burgers, breakfast sandwiches and more!
