Bruce Buckwalter, Jr. and his BDB Graphics, TeamRAACE Midget racing team will donate winnings from five races this season
Royersford, PA - In a tremendous show of support for The RAACE Foundation Bruce Buckwalter, Jr. and his BDB Graphics, TeamRAACE Midget racing team will donate winnings from five races this season. Starting with The RAACE Foundation Night at Williams Grove Speedway back on April 31st, a percentage of his winnings from each ARDC Midget event will be donated back to The RAACE Foundation. "After learning about RAACE at the ARDC banquet last November, I knew I had to get more involved. Then they had that giant Time to Talk Wheel down at Motorsports 2010 and I got to meet Founder Kenneth Smith and saw all of the teams stepping up to help them and was impressed by how much fun they had working with such a terrible epidemic. Then once the race season started I had a chance to talk more with TeamRAACE midget driver Dave Shirk and The RAACE Foundations Director of Development Brad Brickel, I was able to learn about why it is so important for us racers to support this cause. The statistics are just amazing and one thing me and my family believe in is helping kids. Every year my dad and I do something to support worthy charities with our racing program and we wanted to make The RAACE Foundation the first one we supported this year. That's why I added the RAACE logo to my graphics package, hoping that others would follow my lead and make donations to this very worthy charity" said Bruce Buckwalter Jr. A July 25th win at Bridgeport Speedway was the best of eight top-tens in 2009 ARDC racing action, as Bruce ranked fourth in ARDC Midget points. With his dad as car owner, a teammate in midget racing all-star and TeamRAACE driver Stevie Buckwalter, stealth chassis and another TeamRAACE supporter - Gaerte engines, Bruce is poised to have a great start to the 2010 racing season. His sponsors: BDB Construction, BDB Graphics, DirtMag Online, Joel Detwiler Networking Solutions, JesusRaceteam.com and VRP Shocks should be proud to have such a great racing family representing them and our families in this way. 2010 started off in tremendous fashion as the Buckwalter team trekked west to the very popular "Chili Bowl" with several other stars of the ARDC midget series. The stars and stripes themed number 83 of was voted "Best Appearing Car" - an award that the #83 won two years in a row with the ARDC. So, with an 8th place finish on the 31st Bruce's fundraising was off to a great start. Unfortunately the next race was rained out last Saturday evening just as the ARDC midget feature was set to take to the track. Everyone at The RAACE Foundation wishes all of the TeamRAACE drivers running in the ARDC Midget series the best of luck this season and a heart felt thank you to the Buckwalter family in their show of support for TeamRAACE.
