Bechtelsville, PA - Kyle Weiss one of the original four drivers of TeamRAACE (Stevie Smith, DJ Quint, and Tru Atkins being the others) drove to victory yet again on Saturday night October 16th to close out the 2010 version of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series at Grandview Speedway. On a night when over 140 race cars from seven divisions filled the pits, the third 25 lap feature of the night showcased the Sportsman modifieds. The feature was another thriller with lots of passing and drama.

Andy Fayash set the pace for the first three laps with Jared Umbenhauer taking the top spot on lap four. Brad Grim moved into the picture taking the runner-up spot on lap eight. Before long, coming from his fourteenth starting position Kyle Weiss was in the hunt with his Bernie's Italian Ice, USS Achey, Schaeffer Harley-Davidson sponsored mount sporting the purple and yellow of The RAACE Foundation.

On lap eleven, Weiss advanced from fourth to second with a crowd thrilling, sweeping pass through turns one and two. Weiss now had to chase down race leader Jared Umbenhauer. Weiss was gaining ground on Umbenhauer slightly with each lap, keeping the fans on the edge of their seats. Then on lap twenty, Umbenhauer came to a stop in turn one, with a blown engine unwillingly handing over the lead to Weiss.

On the ensuing restart, Weiss now had to contend with a bunched up field of sportsman modified superstars including Ray Woodall Jr., Brad Grim, fellow TeamRAACE driver Craig Whitmoyer and Brad Brightbill. But with only three laps to go Weiss held on to take the win over Ray Woodall, Jr., Brad Grim, Craig Whitmoyer and Brad Brightbill - finishing in that order.

Kyle Weiss was happy to get The RAACE Foundation front and center on such a huge evening. Saying: "It's great to be lucky sometimes! I hate to win one that way, you hate to see Jordan break just as it was about to get interesting. I think he had the better car tonight, but we never got the chance to see what would happen when I caught him. He's a great racer, with an awesome team and it stinks for those guys, but we'll take it! I have had my share of those types of losses over the years. I really like racing at Grandview and right now it looks like I'll be racing here regularly in 2011" a jubilant Weiss said afterwards.

"I really like how they do this show - Bob is a great promoter. The group celebration in victory lane is a lot of fun for all of us! We have a few more shows this year in the sportsman as our 358 is getting freshened for next year - we are happy to have a jump on next season and this win helps. Hopefully we can take one up north next week, possibly hit Susqy the next day and maybe even the Turkey Chase at Bridgeport before we shut it down for 2010 and then get the car ready for The RAACE Foundation's display at Motorsports 2011."
