Forest Hill, MD - When the wheel spins everyone wins is more than just a slogan for The RAACE Foundations huge “Time to Talk” display and gaming wheel, it is the essence of the organizations program. The RAACE Foundation’s #1 goal is to expose the hidden epidemic of child sexual abuse. To do that The RAACE Foundation must be in the public eye.
At the 2012 version of the areas largest motorsports show, The RAACE Foundation and TeamRAACE will have a huge exhibit! With more than 40,000 attendees, 600+ vendors and over 250 racing vehicles of all types on display the weekend of January 20th – 22nd, the show will be fun for all.
The RAACE Foundation is excited to announce the raffle for a highly customized Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. The Eastern Performance/2002 Harley-Davidson Road King will be on display all weekend and raffle tickets are just $5 bucks!
On Friday night January 20th and Saturday night the 21st, The RAACE Foundation will be holding “Trivia Night” for prizes sponsored by the Hoseheads.com Checkered Flag Charity Auction and hosted by the stars of TeamRAACE.
The RAACE Foundation’s “Giant” Time to Talk Wheel will also be in action all weekend. Yes, when the wheel stops and winners claim their cash and or prizes they win. But gamers also learn the realities of child abuse and with 1 in 3 girls and 1 in 7 boys being harmed before 18 it is a harsh reality. The best thing though is that this epidemic is totally preventable as long as we talk about it.
Sunday is always reserved for the greatest one day motorsports memorabilia auction on the East Coast – as Hoseheads.com presents The Checkered Flag Charity Auction, where collectibles of all kinds go on the auction block to benefit The RAACE Foundation. Some of this year’s highlights include autographed items from Tony Stewart, Ron Capps, John Force, Richard Petty, and Mario Andretti. Race used sheet metal from Tony Stewart, Jamie McMurry, Bobby Labonte, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth and Stevie Smith are just some of the other top items up for auction.
Sunday is also Kids Day, featuring Kids Big Wheel races and the PA Masons CHiP Program. For the youngest generation of racing enthusiasts, the RAACE Foundation will be operating a Big Wheel racing track. The RAACE Foundation and TeamRAACE will present big wheel races for kids in three age groups: 3-4, 5-6, and 7-9, will race for big trophies and prizes! The RAACE Foundation will be providing the trophies to the top three racers in each age group starting at 12 pm. Registration is open all weekend and the Big Wheels are supplied, so no one can use their own. It will be free to participate and promises to be fun and laughs for the whole family.
The PA Mason’s CHiP program allows parents the opportunity to create a kit of identifying materials for their child, free of charge. The kit contains a fingerprint card, a physical description, a video, computer disk, or DVD of the child, a dental imprint, and a DNA sample. The kit provides critical information to the public and to law enforcement in the event that a child goes missing.
“We encourage every parent to stop by the booth to pick up our ‘Time to Talk Guide to Protecting Your Child from Sexual Abuse’ and register their children for Sunday’s Kid’s Day. Parents must know that talking about it and having age appropriate conversations with their children can protect them. Especially knowing that 95% of the abuse is coming from someone the family knows and trusts” said The RAACE Foundation’s Founder Kenneth Smith.
So make sure to get to the giant “Time to Talk” wheel located just to the right of the front entrance in D Hall for a lot of fun, games and prizes with The RAACE Foundation and meet the stars and see the race cars of TeamRAACE at Motorsports 2012.
