Are You One of The Other 19?

The Other 19

Today we woke up to a new era of empowerment, enlightenment and action. Last night Oprah Winfrey, while accepting the 2018 Cecil B. de Mille award during the Golden Globes Awards, gave a powerful, moving and historic speech.

“I want all the girls watching here, now, to know that a new day is on the horizon! And when that new
day finally dawns, it will be because of a lot of magnificent women, many of whom are right here in this
room tonight, and some pretty phenomenal men, fighting hard to make sure that they become the
leaders who take us to the time when nobody ever has to say, 'Me too' again.”

Indeed, a lot of “magnificent women…and some pretty phenomenal men” HAVE been fighting hard to
fight sexual abuse. One such man is RAACE’s founder Kenneth Smith.

Over 15 years ago, Ken stood up and said ENOUGH! He knew that 1 out of every 20 men sexually abuse
children. That meant Ken was one of “the other 19”. The other 19 who don’t sexually abuse children.
The other 19 who stand up for the victims. The other 19 who choose to stop the perpetrators—the 1 in
20—and stop child sexual abuse from happening.

Ken founded RAACE and dedicated his life to the mission, promising to do all he could to expose and
prevent child sexual abuse. Since then, RAACE has created programs and materials, hosted educational
events to generate awareness, provided resources for parents, caregivers, children and victims, and
raised funds to fulfill Ken’s mission. In 2018, the team at RAACE is reenergized to do even more.

Will you help?
